Our Process
BODY REPAIR
Worried about those small dents and unsightly scratches ruining your paint job? No need to worry, as part of your vehicle's make over, our body repair technicians have mastered the method of eliminating those blemishes down to a Five-Step Process to ensure that your finish is free from those small dents and unsightly scratches.
STEP 1 - SURFACE PREPARATION
What's the importance of surface repair? You know those chips, scratches, cracks and excessive peeling on your vehicle? If left untreated and exposed to the elements over time, these conditions could ultimately ruin your paint job. Repairing such issues will help your vehicle receive the smoothest finish and highest possible gloss. At Exoticars, our service technicians examine your vehicle and suggest condition repairs. We offer affordable surface prep options that ensure your paint looks great. A little surface repair before the paint goes on can ensure it holds that gloss and shine for years to come.
STEP 2 - SURFACE SEALER
Have you ever noticed how some paint jobs fail to hold their shine? It could be a matter of that old paint mixing with the new, creating uneven color and gloss. Sealer plays that all-important role of establishing a barrier between the old and new paint. This ensures consistent color and a higher gloss throughout the entire painted surface. At Exoticars we offer 3 grades of sealer. The right choice is all about durability, and ultimately the amount of prep work needed for your particular vehicle. When it comes to the durability of your vehicle's paint, sealer helps keep a consistent shine long after the job is done.
STEP 3 - PAINT SERVICES
At Exoticars, we offer three paint packages tailored to your specific needs and budget concerns: Basic, Preferred, Premium & Platinum. What makes each of the four services unique all comes down to two factors: Longevity of the paint, which includes warranty/durability, and the appearance of the paint, which includes gloss, color match, and metallic appearance.
STEP 4 - PROTECTION & FINISH
A great paint job deserves great protection. We often apply clear coats to our paint jobs to not only protect the paint, but to ensure an accurate gloss match and an overall seamless repair.
STEP 5- PROPER CAR CARE
Proper Car Care can have a major impact on the durability and appearance of your new paint. The right maintenance can help your car hold its color and shine, as well as provide protection from the elements.
When possible, try to:
Washing your car is a great way to remove unwanted contaminants that may be damaging your finish such as tree sap, bird droppings or bugs. It's recommended that you hand wash your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Be sure to use this as an opportunity to rinse the undercarriage of your car to remove dirt, salt or other chemicals that promote rust.
WAXING
Four to six weeks following your paint job, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax, like Mothers', that does not contain abrasive cleaning agents, such as silicone.
Apply a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions apply it to the entire car. Allow the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using the same short, circular motion.
